Thank you for registering for the International Conference on Engineering Education, which will be held at UMIST, Manchester, UK.

Conference Registration

The Registration Desk will be situated in the foyer of the Renold Building at the following times:

On arrival, you will receive a name badge, together with a conference pack containing all conference literature. To ensure the smooth processing of your registration, it would be helpful if you would show your registration confirmation when registering.

Delegates should note that name badges must be worn at all times.

Workshop - Sunday 18 August

For those booking a place at the workshop, the registration desk will be open in the Renold Building at 10am.

Messages

As it will not be possible to interrupt conference sessions with individual messages, it is essential that delegates check for messages on a regular basis. Telephone and fax messages will be pinned to the message board, which will be adjacent to the registration desk. Messages can be left by telephoning 0161 200 4099 during registration hours.

Catering

Coffee and tea breaks will be taken in the Exhibition Area, C15, with lunch in an adjacent building, the Barnes Wallis. If you have not already done so, please notify us of any special dietary requirement.

Tuesday 20 August 20028.00pm Conference Banquet "International Evening".
Wednesday 21 August 20021.00 pm Trip to Quarry Bank Mill for those who have reserved a place.

Car Parking

UMIST has its own car park located on Charles Street. Current charges are £8 for 24 hours or £6 for the day (discount vouchers can be purchased from Weston Building Reception). The top two floors L & M are security controlled and are locked between 8 pm and 8 am.

Travel

Manchester is served by an international airport, two mainline rail stations and a network of motorways as indicated on the location map at www.meeting.co.uk/location.

If you travel by air, Manchester International Airport is approx 10 miles from the UMIST campus. A taxi from the airport will cost around £15. Alternatively, make use of the rail link between the Airport and Piccadilly railway station, which runs every 15 minutes and a single ticket costs approximately £3.

The Conference Centre is a 5 minute walk from the station across the UMIST campus, or a short taxi ride.
