UMIST, Manchester, Great Britain, August 18-22, 2002
Papers are solicited on the area of information technology (IT) in education and research. IT is becoming the backbone of education and research. In Science and Engineering, the emphasis has been on collaborative learning, interdisciplinary education, distant learning and online-tests or evaluation. The aim of this session is to bring together educators who have developed and/or used IT innovatively in an attempt to take advantage of IT in engineering education. Issues related to the information explosion and the need to create an intelligent learning environment will be discussed.
This Call for Papers covers all topics related to IT that are not already covered by other Special Calls for ICEE-2002. For example, authors wishing to submit abstracts dealing with Innovative Web-based Teaching Strategies and Tools and Innovations in Virtual and Remote Laboratories should refer to the specific Calls for these areas. Session and conference organizers reserve the right to move papers around to maintain focus and balance of sessions.
This conference emphasizes development of international partnerships in education and research. Through special sessions and international workshops, it provides ample opportunity for discussing future cooperative projects.
