APPENDIX I
Leadership Council
(Draft)
(1) The iNEER Leadership Council shall be organized by the iNEER Board with members appointed by the Board based on open nomination and recommendation by Council members and members of the iNEER Network.
(2)
The membership of the Council will comprise
rectors, vice rectors,
presidents, chancellors, vice chancellors, provost, deans, etc. from
academic institutions, and senior representatives from industry and
government.
(3)
The Council is charged to plan and execute
programs and activities so as to provide a platform for networking among
leaders of universities and colleges, and senior representatives of industry
and government from around the world.
(4)
The Council shall enable the sharing of
information and establishing cooperative exchanges by leaders of engineering
education and research, including initiating and proposing future meetings and
conferences for consideration by the iNEER Board.
(5)
The work of the Council shall be led by two
co-chairs in coordination with the Secretary-General of iNEER. The co-chairs
shall be elected by members of the Council and shall serve two-year renewable
terms. The co-chairs shall be
responsible to jointly organize a Council meeting during a conference of the
iNEER Network, and shall provide the leadership and associated administrative
support, such as planning and organizing Council meetings, communicating with
Council members and members of the iNEER Board, and providing the minutes of
the Council meeting within 30 days after the meeting. The medium of communication shall be English.
(6)
To the extent possible, the Council operation
shall be self-sustaining with all members providing for their travels to attend
meetings, including conference registration fees.
