The proliferation
of personal computers together with the growing popularity of the Internet
has increased communication among diverse users and has created a variety
of services offered through this enormous heterogenous network of environments,
systems and platforms. This use of technology is very recent and various
research projects aim to find out what the relevant aspects are for groupwork
using computers. These aspects can be seen in the communication, coordination
and cooperation structures that the groups use to work with.
We hope that the same information
technology (Internet, Intranets, WWW, etc) that is building the Information
Society will bring solutions for the huge cost problems involved in training
and education which are crucial for this new kind of society.
