CALL FOR PAPERS

Wireless and Mobile Technologies in Engineering Education

Wireless and mobile technology is becoming increasingly available and affordable, and much of this technology is quickly becoming a natural part of students’ lives.  Wireless and mobile technology incorporates anything from notebook computers and mobile phones down to advanced calculators with communication facilities.  The purpose of this session is to bring together engineering educators who have experimented with such technology as part of their education practices.

Papers that address the following issues are solicited (although not limited to):

·        Innovative designs and uses of tools that overcome barriers of learning

·        Learning activities supported by mobile devices

·        Wireless technology mediated collaboration and group work

·        Innovative uses of mobile and wireless devices.

·        Large class teaching

·        Student testing with wireless devices.

·        Use of calculators

·        Interface designs optimized for small screens or other modes of interaction that fit on mobile devices

·        Experience reports using mobile and wireless technology in engineering education (successes and failures)

·        Wireless educational software.

·        Emerging trends

This conference emphasizes development of international partnerships in education and research. Through special sessions and international workshops, it provides ample opportunity for discussing future cooperative projects.
