Xiangyun Du is an academic staff in UNESCO Chair in Problem Based Learning (UCPBL Chair), and an assistant professor at Department of Development and Planning, Aalborg University, Denmark. Dr. Du is involved in establishment and development PBL Global Network in research and education practice. Dr. Du has been doing research on engineering education in the past 10 years. In the previous work in China, she was involved in research and teaching in improving the communication and language skills for engineering students. She conducted her Ph.D. project on gender and engineering education in a PBL setting in the Danish context. Currently, her main research focuses are intercultural learning, development of social competencies, innovative education, gender studies, Problem-based and Project-organized learning in higher education (in particular) engineering education. Internationally, she is related to different organizations dealing with culture and learning, and is actively engaged in different activities for developing intercultural competencies for both teaching staff and students. She is also a council member of ‘International Network for Engineers and Scientist for Global Responsibility (INES)’.
